Daniel Joseph Scheffert

DANIEL JOSEPH SCHEFFERT, age 59, of Faribault, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at M Health Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Dan was born on November 1, 1965, in New Prague, the son of Kenneth and LaVaughn (Janaszak) Scheffert. He received his education through eighth grade at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Montgomery and graduated from Montgomery High School with the Class of 1984. On November 16, 1991, Dan was united in marriage to Becky Krueger, and together they had one daughter.

Throughout his life, Dan worked at McQuay’s, Mercury, and most recently at Balchem, all in Faribault. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and hunting. His greatest joy, however, was his family. Dan’s daughter was his pride and joy, and he was a devoted and proud grandpa who cherished every moment spent with his grandsons.

He will be remembered as a loving and hardworking man who was always willing to help his family and friends.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Scheffert (fiancé, Garrett Gates) of Faribault; grandsons, Aiden and Landon Gates; siblings, Mike Scheffert of Montgomery and Katie (Bernie) LaCanne of Montgomery; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and LaVaughn Scheffert, and his brother, Paul Scheffert.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, concluding with a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Private family burial be at St. Michael Cemetery.
