GILBERT “GIBBY” JAMES LANG, age 89, of Le Center passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Methodist Campus in Rochester.
Gilbert was born on July 29, 1936, in Le Center, Minnesota, to Edwin and Rose (Holetz) Lang. He attended Le Center High School. On September 29, 1973, Gilbert married the love of his life, Linda Anderson, in Brandon, Minnesota. Together they shared many years of marriage.
Gilbert was a hardworking man who spent much of his life farming and working alongside his brother, Ray, at the tire shop. He took pride in honest work and was never afraid to roll up his sleeves. Throughout the years, he also enjoyed singing karaoke at Mystic Lake. He also spent time digging graves—always serving his community in whatever way was needed.
He had a love for tires, music, and farming, and found great joy in staying busy. Gilbert was also known for his generosity, especially his support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Linda Lang; his sister, Janet Wordelman of Sheridan, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Rose Lang, and his siblings, Alice Searles and Raymond Lang.
Graveside service for Gilbert will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center.
