Jane Marie Moldenhauer, of Le Sueur passed away on December 23. 2025 at her home.
Born on November 22, 1938, in Elysian, MN, Jane was the daughter of Ortwin and Mary (Wendt) Roemhildt. On September 7, 1963, she married Arnold Moldenhauer, and together they made their home on a hobby farm near Le Sueur, where they raised their family. Jane enjoyed life on the farm, where she tended a large garden that produced a wide variety of vegetables, including an impressive 400 hills of potatoes. Each year, she harvested and canned the vegetables to enjoy year-round, along with fruits she used to make fresh jams. In addition to the large garden, they also raised animals; including pigs, chickens, ducks, and sheep, which helped provide food for their family.
If you knew anything about Jane, you knew she had no filter and wasn’t shy about sharing her thoughts and opinions. She loved telling “dirty” stories and could talk for hours on the phone or to anyone who crossed her path. Despite her wild side, Jane’s heart was always with her family. She loved a house full of people during the holidays and took pride in feeding them well, sharing the fruits of her labor; from homegrown vegetables to farm-raised goodness that filled the table. Although she was a master at canning just about anything, her family liked to joke that baking wasn’t quite her strong suit. Cookies and cakes were frequently overbaked, prompting her famous saying, “If they’re burnt, they’re done.”
Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she never missed a chance to spoil them. While her spirited and wild side will be dearly missed, the stories of her adventures and life will continue to bring laughter to every room.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Tammie Harman, Tim (Becky Moravec) Moldenhauer, Tony Moldenhauer, and Maria (Ken) Bebler; granddaughters, Melissa Harman and Christine (Marcos Mirelez) Harman; and great grandson, James Mirelez; siblings, Caroline Krueger and Orville Roemhildt; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold in 1999; son, Terry Moldenhauer; siblings, Ardis Ely, Arnola (Frank) Studnicka, Ruth (Ervin) Davis, Raymond in infancy, Harold Roemhildt, Grant Roemhildt, Alfred Roemhildt, Clare Roemhildt, Gordon Roemhildt, and Earl Roemhildt; and her loving German Shepherd, Heidi.
A service will be held privately with interment taking place at St. Peter Bell Lutheran Cemetery.
