KAREN SHIRLEY BOSACKER, age 83 of Le Center, died at her home surrounded by her family on the morning of Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Karen was born at her parents’ home near Kilkenny on January 16, 1942 to parents Emmanuel and Eva (Schlotman) Gieseke. As a child she attended country school near Kilkenny. On June 11, 1960, she was married to Curtis Bosacker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Karen loved gardening, canning, baking buns, caring for her family and their home, and she was an avid Vikings fan. She worked for a short time at a local coffee shop, and she ran the books for her husband’s welding and repair business for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she made many lasting friendships.
Karen is survived by her husband, Curtis Bosacker; four children, David (Julie) Bosacker, Lori Bosacker, Daniel (Stacy) Bosacker, and Brad (Angela) Bosacker; twelve grandchildren, Crystal, Taylor, Jesica, Mathew, Michael, Adam, Jeremy, Justin, Jenna, Kyle, Alexander, and Joshua; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother Gene Gieske. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Bosacker; brothers Norm and Harvey Gieseke; and sisters Lois Barnett, Beverly Staples, and Muriel Johnson.
A private family interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center. A celebration of Karen’s life will be hosted by her family at the Le Center American Legion on the afternoon of Saturday, August 9, 2025. Specific timing will be announced soon.
