Kimberly Joy Blaschko (Boreen), age 69, from LeCenter passed away peacefully in her home on April 16, 2026 Kim was born November 5, 1956 to Calvin and Joyce Boreen. Where she grew up with 7 siblings in LeSueur. Kim worked many jobs including waitressing, house cleaning, Casey’s, and Rademachers. She married Paul Ehmke September 28, 1974; they were married for 20 years and were blessed with three boys, Chad, Jeff and Mark. Kim met her final love while waitressing, Shawn Blaschko, they were married December 16, 1995. Kim took in his two daughters Amanda and Ashley like they were her own. They got to enjoy 30 wonderful years together watching all of the NASCAR races, Vikings and Packers games or the Twins games. They spent most of their summer weekends going camping.
Kim cherished time spent outdoors, especially camping. She found peace in being outside and happiness in the simple moments shared with family and friends around a campfire. Spring was her favorite season, her time was spent planting flowers. You could always find her in the yard tending to her flowers, trimming the yard by hand or hanging clothes out on the line. Kim will be remembered as a woman whose heart was so full. She had a gift for making people feel welcome. Kim really enjoyed cooking and making sure nobody went home hungry.
She had a deep love for creating, especially when it came to making blankets—each one crafted with warmth and thoughtfulness. Those blankets will continue to wrap her loved ones in comfort, just as she did in life. Kim’s greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved them fiercely and celebrated their accomplishments, big or small. Her eyes would light up whenever she spoke about them, and her love for them was constant and unwavering. Her love extended to her dogs as well, who were a constant source of companionship and joy.
She was a social soul who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Kim had a way of turning strangers into friends, making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. Her laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on all who met her. Above all, Kim was selfless. She cared deeply for others, often putting their needs before her own. Her generosity, warmth, and unwavering love will be missed beyond words.
Kim is survived by her husband Shawn; her children, Chad (Kim) Ehmke, Jeff (Sabrina) Ehmke, Mark (April) Ehmke, Amanda (Ryan) Yashack, and Ashley (Ridge) Erhart; 11 grandchildren, Sidney (Jordan), Evan, Shafer, Soren, Bella, Sadie, Lexi, Jaxson, Chase, Addi, and Oliver; her siblings, Sharon, Theresa, Diane, Kevin, Randy, and Gary; her beloved dog Tony; and ,many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Calvin and Joyce; sister, Mary; mother and father-in-law, brother-in-law, Rob; nephew; and her beloved dogs, Buffy, Muffy, Molly, and Brody.
A Celebration of Kim's Life will be held at the Le Center Chapel of Schoenbauer Funeral Homes on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to food and fellowship at 4:30 at the American Legion in Le Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials sent to the family is preferred.
