Lois Marie Deutsch

Lois Marie Deutsch, age 77, of Le Center, Minnesota, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center will take place at a later date.

Lois was born on November 18, 1947, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Walter and Louise (Lemieux) Smuda. She attended Bethlehem Academy, graduating with the Class of 1965, and went on to attend beauty school to pursue a career in cosmetology.

On November 30, 1968, she married Milt Deutsch in Faribault. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family, raising three children: Susan (Glenn) Fricke, Curry (Leslie) Deutsch, and Chad (Jaime) Deutsch.

Lois was a proud and loving grandmother to Devyn, Kirsten (Bianca), Cole (Jessica) Shaughnessy, Dawson, Dayton, Dahminik, Kai, and Alexa. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Oliver, Lillian, and Dawson.

She worked side by side with her husband for many years at the NAPA store they owned in Le Center, and later devoted 30 years of service to Sanofi in Le Sueur.

Lois lived a life full of simple joys. She was a longtime member of a bowling league and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a knack for finding hidden treasures while shopping or garage saling, enjoyed collecting knickknacks, and found peace in birdwatching. She especially cherished her time spent in Arizona.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Louise Smuda; her brother, Jerry; her sister, Carol; her beloved son, Chad; and brothers-in-law Duane and Bob. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with Chad, embracing him once again with the same love and warmth she gave in life.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, playful spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends.
