Madalynn Faith Haala Ruiz

Madalynn Faith Haala Ruiz was born on December 17, 2025, in Mankato, Minnesota, to her loving parents, Sara Ruiz and Evan Haala. From her very first moments, Madalynn showed strength and spirit far beyond her days. Though she faced the challenges of Trisomy 13, she proved herself a true warrior, blessing the world with 112 days of a life filled with deep and unconditional love.

Madalynn found her greatest comfort in the arms of those who loved her most. She cherished holding hands and cuddling with her parents and family, bringing Sweetness and joy to everyone around her. She also adored snuggling with her beloved toy, “Lambie,” who was never far from her side.

Even in her brief time, Madalynn’s personality shined brightly. She was delightfully opinionated, sometimes favoring certain nurses over others and making her preferences known in her own spirited way. She could be a little particular at times, especially when the NICU grew too noisy, gently letting everyone know she preferred a quieter space.

Her big brother, Thomas, held a special place in her heart. Whenever he came to visit, Madalynn would wiggle with excitement and share her beautiful smiles.

Madalynn was also known as the “best dressed” baby in the NICU, bringing a touch of brightness and joy to those who cared for her. In her own little way, she showed everyone just how big a tiny life can be—full of love, personality, and moments that will never be forgotten.

Madalynn passed peacefully on April 8, 2026, surrounded by the love that carried her through every day of her life. Though her time here was far too short, she will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever held close in the hearts of her family. Her tiny hands left the biggest imprint, and her love will continue to be felt in every moment, always.

Madalynn will be forever loved by her parents, Sarah Ruiz and Evan Haala; 5 ½ year old big brother, Thomas; grandparents, Sara and Benjamin Ruiz and Melissa and Craig Smith; great-grandparents, Maria Ruiz, Tom and Donna Haala, and Doug Carpenter; aunts and uncles, Maria (Josh) Haecherl, Candy Ruiz, Karen Ruiz, Yasmin Ruiz, Louis (Marisol) Ruiz, Tomas Ruiz, Nate Lund, Nelson (Taylor) Lund, and Nicole (Marco) Peluso; along with numerous cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Apolonio Ruiz and Dar Carpenter and uncle, Raul Ruiz.

A private family service will be held for Madalynn.
