She entered the world on November 24, 1927 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on March 12, 2025 in Lake St.Louis, Missouri.
Preceded in passing by her parents Ray and Gertrude, brothers Richard, Jack and her beloved husband Merrill, she is survived by her brothers Gene and Karl, as well as children Tim and his wife Clare, Maureen and her husband Larry, Sean and his wife Sally, Sheila and her husband Larry and Matthew and his wife DeAnn. 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren will miss her ready smile and love of family.
Born at home, the oldest child and only daughter in a family of seven, she was raised on the family farm in the community of St. Henry. She understood the value of hard work, something she then instilled in her own children. She possessed a quiet strength, an uncompromising value system and an unwavering dedication to her family and her faith. A graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Mankato, she went on to study at the College of St. Benedict. She married Merrill Hanlon of Faribault in June of 1949, a marriage that blossomed into an extraordinary partnership lasting 53 years until his passing in 2002.
Mary Agnes’ loss is deeply felt by her loving family.
Services will be held at the Church of St. Henry on July 11 at 10am with interment in the church cemetery. Luncheon to follow in the St. Henry Hall. Memorials may be made to the College of St. Benedict.
