Michelle Marie Moravec

On Tuesday, October 20th,2026, our family received the “Official Interim Death Certificate” from the Coroner’s Office in Canberra, Australia regarding Michelle’s unwitnessed passing. Official cause of death and time of death still to be released by Coroner’s Office.

MICHELLE MARIE MORAVEC was born on March 15th,1955 in St. Peter Minnesota to Robert and Kathleen (McCasland) Moravec. Went to school in Montgomery/Lonsdale Public School in Montgomery Minnesota. Graduated with honors – salutatorian. Went on to graduate from University of Minnesota/ St.Paul Campus with a degree in horticulture.

As a young girl, a “Wanderlust Lifestyle” was inspired by Grandpa George McCasland. A way of living, that puts a strong focus on travel, travel, exploring new places and cultures. Eventually ending up in Australia. A more formal career developed in Australia at the University of Canberra (ANU) located in Canberra ACT Australia where she retired. She never married or had children. Special loves but never found the right guy.

Michelle is survived by her sister: Sharon Whipps (George); stepsister, Lynn Anderson (Todd); Nieces & Nephew: Julie Herndon (Jesse), Janna Deulen (Travis) & Michael Mandelkow; Great Nieces & Nephews: Bradley & Maddie Herndon & Rylee & Nox Deulen; Cousins: Patsy Pagel (Jim), Michael Coulter, Tom Coulter, David Coulter ( Andrea), Steve Coulter (Anne), Linda Winkler (Gordon), David Johnson (Lisa), Charles Johnson and Annmarie Sheets (Paul).

She is predeceased by Robert & Kathleen Moravec (parents), Stepfather – Earl Krenik, Todd Anderson ( brother-in-law), Richard Johnson (cousin).

Michelle spent a total of 47 years in Australia. We are in the process of bringing her back when she is released. A celebration and burial at a later date. She was a resident of Australia but never gave up the citizenship to the USA !
