Milo J. Chlan, age 85, of Montgomery, passed away Friday, October 24 in New Prague, 2014. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation 1 hour prior at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Milo was born on November 19, 1928 in Veseli to Thomas and Agnes (Sempaur) Chlan. He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1951 to 1953 where he met and was united in marriage to Hedi Gartner on July 11, 1953 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Upon returning to the United States he worked for Sanitary Creamery and Green Giant for 18 years.
He was a member of the VFW of Montgomery. He enjoyed fishing- all year long, helping others with jobs, craft work and his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Milo is survived by wife of 61 years, Hedi Chlan of Montgomery; children, Hedi (Bill) Pelowski of Montgomery, Aggie (Ray) Otero of Riverside California, Susan (Richard) Olson of Faribault and Linda Chlan (James) Grindle of Lakeville; 5 grandchildren, Brian (Mia) Pelowski, Jeff Pelowski, Kevin Pelowski, Kathy (Nate) Carlson and Margaret Hanson; great-grandchild, Drew Pelowski, and brother, Emil (Gertie) Chlan of New Prague and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Tom Chlan and George Chlan; sister, Agnes Noiske and granddaughter, Teresa Otero.
Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
