Orville Gerald Roemhildt of Cleveland, MN passed away on April 28, 2026, at his home.
Born on March 6, 1946, at his home in Cordova, he was the son of Ortwin and Marie (Wendt) Roemhildt. As a child he attended Bell Church School and later Waterville school. He spent his entire career working at Unimin Corporation in sand and gravel supply until his retirement.
Orville was a man who firmly believed in the value of an honest day’s work, a principle he carried with him throughout his life. When he wasn’t working, he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—taking drives through the countryside to visit familiar faces, admire the scenery, or stop in to check on his nieces and nephews. He often visited his siblings’ homes as well, simply to spend time together, visit, and enjoy a cup of coffee. He also had a deep love for the outdoors and treasured the time he spent fishing and hunting whenever he had the chance.
He treasured time spent around the table with family and friends, especially over meals at his favorite spots, Little Dandy and Jocko’s. Orville lived a humble, steady life, always finding a way to stay busy and lend a hand. Even in retirement, he kept moving, caring for the lawns of the City of Cleveland with the same quiet dedication that defined him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Caroline Krueger; sister-in-law, Carol Roemhildt; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Arnola (Frank) Studnicka, Ruth (Ervin) Davis, Raymond in infancy, Harold Roemhildt, Grant Roemhildt, Alfred Roemhildt, Clare Roemhildt, Gordon Roemhildt, Earl Roemhildt, Jane (Arnold) Moldenhauer, and Ardis (Willis) Ely; brother-in-law, Alfred Davis; along with many extended family members.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Le Center Chapel of Schoenbauer Funeral Homes with a burial to follow at Savidge Lake Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to Jocko’s in Cleveland for food and fellowship from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
