Ralph Duane Ziegler

RALPH DUANE ZIEGLER, age 87 of Le Center, died on the morning of Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Ralph was born in Waseca on August 26, 1938, to parents Phillip and Harriet (Kroeger) Ziegler. He attended Janesville schools and graduated with the class of 1956 before continuing his education at Mankato State. On July 29, 1967, Ralph was united in marriage to Darla Reetz at the United Methodist Church in Elysian. He spent over twenty years working as a plaster installer for Hendley Construction in Mankato before working as a Labor Foreman for Honey Mead. He oversaw plastering projects all over southern Minnesota including the River Hills Mall and the Madison East Mall in Mankato. He also gave his time to jobs at Herter’s, Brown Printing, and Bird’s Eye Foods before retiring at the age of 64. Ralph enjoyed gardening, fishing, going to auctions and garage sales, and going on bus trips – especially to Branson, Missouri.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Darla of Le Center; two children, Pam (Scott) Huber of Le Center and Paula (Gary) Wiest of Le Center; four grandchildren, Carey (Annie) Ziegler, Samantha (Cody) Thompson, Hollie (Sam) Vlasak, and Heather (Zach Kroyer) Wiest; and six great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by one sister, Norma Kanne of Austin; and a sister-in-law, Anita Ziegler of Janesville. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and five siblings, Gilbert (JoAnn) Ziegler, Herman (Darlene) Ziegler, Delores (Henry) Kriese, Evan Ziegler, and Gregory Ziegler.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Woodlawn Cemetery near Le Center.
