ROBERT “BOB” KEITH BOHLEN, age 90 of Le Center, passed away peacefully Monday, June 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Also known as Grandpa Bob, he waited 3 years and 9 months to be with the love of his life Eileen, his daughter Jane, and his dog Brandy (those who knew him best know why he picked that name).
He was born on February 23, 1935, in Faribault, MN to Theodore and Lenore (Fraser) Bohlen and graduated from Waterville High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army where he served as a medic. After many years of being a bachelor, he found his true love, Eileen Janet Schramm, who he married on April 15th, 1967, in Kilkenny, MN. Together they would farm and raise their three amazing children. There wasn’t anything Bob couldn’t do or fix. He was an intelligent, kind, friendly and hospitable man with a great sense of humor. His favorite past time was playing games, especially Pfeffer and cribbage and loved to fish on Lake Gorman (MN) and Lake Palestine (TX). Bob and Eileen enjoyed farming and traveling all over and spending time with loved ones.
Bob is survived by his children, Tom (wife Becky) Bohlen, Nita Froderman; grandchildren, Rachel and Jessica, Jackson and Jase, Anna and Ryan; sister, Darlene Dillemuth. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Jane Lorsung and brother, Don Bohlen.
Funeral service will be held, Monday, June 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at his church, St. Paul Lutheran, in Le Center with Rev. Heath Queen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are held by Schoenbauer Funeral Home.
