Terry Kielty

TERRANCE “TERRY” SYLVESTER KIELTY, age 82, of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.

Born on February 16, 1943, in Minneapolis, he is the son of Sylvester and Emma (Kobs) Kielty. Terry grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and began his education at a Catholic Elementary School, later graduating from Minneapolis Edison High School with the class of 1961. Following his education he was united in marriage to Donna. Together they had two children and were later divorced. Years later he was united in marriage to Robin Dufrene and together they had five children and were later divorced. On August 20, 2001, Terry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joyce Hagen and together they made their home in Montgomery. Beginning in the 9th grade and throughout his life, Terry worked for various printing companies, most notably owning and operating Quality Mailing in Montgomery for over 10 years. He finished his career while working at Lowes, retiring in 2012. Terry was known as a handy man and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed his nature drives, hunting, fishing, and camping trips with Joyce, and was known to throw a few back. He will be remembered as a loving man with a quick-witted sense of humor.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Joyce; children: Debbie (Tom) Westerberg, Rick (Kori) Kielty, Brad Kielty, Stacey (Pete) Strube, Ashley Kielty (Mitch Borchardt), Kayla Kielty (Shain Shepherd), and Jessica Hagen (Bobby Poff); 28 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings: Dennis (Cheryl) Kielty, Tom (Gloria) Kielty, Linda Kielty, and Jean Kielty; sister-in-law, Jan Kielty; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Kielty; siblings: Beverly Wimmer, Gretchen Condon, Timothy Kielty, John Kielty.

A Celebration of Terry’s Life from 1:00 - 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Montgomery American Legion.
